ABOUT MIKE O’REILLY

My name is Mike O’Reilly, and I have dedicated my career to serving the residents of Kamloops. With more than a decade of leadership in nonprofit organizations and seven years as a City Councillor with the City of Kamloops, I have worked hard to build a reputation as a collaborative leader who delivers results. I am married to my amazing wife Erin, and we have two wonderful and active kids who count on us and our community to make good decisions for their future.

I have served on numerous boards including the BIG Little Science Centre (board member), Kamloops Downtown BIA (president), Kamloops MS Society (president), BC MS Society (chair government relations), and I have the experience to build consensus and guide our community and organizations toward a vision.

I am running for Mayor of Kamloops. My vision is Kamloops First and my mission is to create a stronger, safer, and more connected community where residents feel secure, businesses are supported, and neighbourhoods thrive. I believe in practical solutions that address complex challenges such as homelessness, housing affordability, and public safety, while maintaining a sustainable tax environment and furthering Kamloops’ role as Canada’s Tournament Capital.

At the core of my vision is the belief that leadership requires one to listen and then take action. I am committed to listening to the voices of residents, making timely and thoughtful decisions, and ensuring those decisions lead to measurable results to benefit Kamloops.
